WALDORF ASTORIA TO OPEN HOTEL IN ORLANDO
Hilton Hotels has announced that The Waldorf-Astoria Orlando will open Oct. 1, 2009, 78 years to the day her namesake Park Avenue original opened. Surrounded on three sides by Walt Disney World Resort, the resort is part of the Bonnet Creek development, which also includes Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, scheduled to open the same day. The 497-room Waldorf-Astoria Orlando, the first Waldorf-Astoria built outside of New York City, will boast Waldorf firsts including a Rees Jones-designed golf course and a formal signature pool, encircled by private cabanas and attended by poolside butlers. Guests can also indulge in The Waldorf-Astoria Spa by Guerlain and enjoy Waldorf signature restaurants, including Bull & Bear Steakhouse, Oscar's and Peacock Alley.
